Laura Bibbs is an educator, performer, composer, singer, and trumpet player. In 2015, Laura moved to Boston to study orchestral trumpet with Thomas Siders. She earned her bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2019. Before graduating, Laura continued her studies internationally at Berklee Valencia in Spain, studying under Timotej Kotnik. While living in Spain, she traveled throughout Europe, immersing herself in the surrounding music and culture. After leaving Europe, she moved to Harlem to pursue a master’s degree in Contemporary Performance at the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Jon Faddis and Brandon Ridenour. Faddis’s mentorship deeply shaped Laura’s developing career, inspiring her to pursue her musical passions, despite the genre. Earlier in 2022 Laura performed with Will Wells and the Whole Team Winnin’ Orchestra for ESPN’s Heisman Trophy Ceremony and Gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Most recently, Laura had the opportunity to perform with artist Harry Styles at his headlining Coachella performance, performing in “Watermelon Sugar” and the world premiere of his song “Late Night Talking” from the “Harry’s House” album. She is currently performing with Harry Styles on his North American tour. Laura has performed in notable venues including Madison Square Garden, Scotiabank Arena, Boston’s Symphony Hall, New York City’s Symphony Space, the Coachella Main Stage, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Rockwood Music Hall, Mercury Lounge and Berklee’s Power Station. Laura currently resides in New York City, but actively teaches and performs all over the East Coast. She is a member of Soul of Boston (Boston), Big Stuff Band (Astoria), and Patriot Brass Ensemble. She has also shared the stage with a variety of artists including Harry Styles, Jon Faddis, Chris Jaudes, and many others. In New York she primarily works as a studio and session musician, recording and performing with artists in person as well as remotely.
